Existing Production and Test Manifolds are to be replaced with new as part of a planned offshore Shutdown.
Background/Challenge
The challenge set down by the Asset owner is to complete the task inside a very controlled Shutdown window.
Solution
Fabricate the new Production and Test manifolds in “finished “packages that will allow accurate assembly, bolt up offshore- no welding.
A Laser scan Asbuilt survey of the Mainifold area was undertaken to allow Engineering to Detail Design, clash check for new packaged assemblies.
A Dimensional Control Survey of all critical Piping TPs and Structural interfaces was undertaken to allow Detail Engineering Design of all items to facilitate maximum package build onshore and achieve a no Weld, first time fit during the planned Shutdown.
Dimensional Control Survey actives were further undertaken offshore to ensure the “best fit” positions of the packages were established to mm accuracy, guaranteeing a first time fit during the planned Shutdown.
Dimensional Control Survey is the provision of accurate 3D measurement to support the execution of complex Engineering Design and Build projects.
Enhanced Safety
Minimising traditional site working practices by transference of recognised site activities to Fabrication facilities.
Improved Schedule
Increasing offsite works focus to controlled environments result in a reduction of the more traditional site build activities such as rigging, welding, testing and associated indirect activities.
Reduced Project Cost
By implementation of Survey strategy and strict build control, offsite works can be maximised whilst reducing onsite activities and mitigating unplanned activities.
